A Tribute
Lucille and Michael Maxis were more than just my grandparents — they were pillars of strength, faith, and compassion in both the church and the community. My grandfather, Reverend Michael Maxis, led with unwavering dedication at Salt of the Earth Baptist Church, while my grandmother, Lucille Maxis, a God-fearing woman, served as Program Manager at Keys to Work, helping countless individuals rebuild their lives. Their professional roles were only part of their legacy; their true impact shone through their tireless devotion to serving others.

Philanthropy and discipleship were the driving forces behind their lives. From spreading the gospel in nursing homes and hosting community outreach events to offering help to anyone in need — whether they had the means or not — they embodied selfless love and service. The Maxis Foundation was created to honor their remarkable legacy, continuing their mission to uplift, empower, and inspire the community they cherished so deeply.
